Serving Up More Concept Art

Howdy all! Sorry the diary entries have been kind of sparse lately. Scott and I have been keeping our Andromedan noses to the grind stone (ouch!) but hope to get better at bringing you the latest stuff on our progress. We’re both really excited about the story, characters and situations we’ve cooked up for Ace & company and we will start tossing out more tantalizing tidbits in the coming days. speaking of which, here’s a tasty morsel for you all to speculate on. 😉 More to come very soon.

Hmm, looks like some sort of giant floating, flatbed transport he’s operating. Is he stealing it or does he fix giant jet turbines on the side? Or is it a part for an airplane toilet? (the part that flushes)

Maybe the puzzle is shifting that enormous turbine to be able to even _find_ the plumbing problem. Or… perhaps he has to solve non-plumbing puzzles as well :-O

You mean keycard related ones ?! (maybe it’s stuck under the part)

I love the dingy, almost subterranean mood that’s been coming out so far. It’s like the first Alien-flick, only cartoonified. My kinda stuff! 🙂

Between the recent concept art, and the early 2.5D art direction commentary, I’m thinking that we’re going to see a gorgeous cel-shaded creation in the galaxy of SpaceVenture. It’s interesting to see how many contemporary adventure game projects are committed to that art direction; much as painstakingly hand-painted EGA and VGA art are the hallmark style of 90’s adventure gaming, I’m thinking that 2.5D cel-shading will be remembered as the signature style of early 2000’s adventure gaming.

That would be interesting to see, I agree.

I wonder if you first have to turn the controls diagram upside down to avoid driving it backwards into in incinerator beam :-/
