Scene Scale Test

No, Ace doesn’t get cloned in SpaceVenture. This was a test to establish the scale for a corridor scene that occurs early in the game.

    Love the hallway design. It reminds me of Space Quest III, and that was my favorite ‘look’ for all the SQ games!

    I second that, love the hallway feel. Reminds me of what I loved about the SQ1-3 design, a very “Ralph McQuarrie” type feel.

    Yep; Ace reminds me a bit of a rebel trooper with his outfit, standing in this Death Star/Tantive-IV-ish corridor.

    Love it – this reminds me of Tantive-IV as Patrick has said, but also of Space Quest 2 in the Asteroid.

    Looking lovely, and think the style is really cool too – I could look at Mark’s artwork all day long.

    Now you’ve gone and spoiled that the game has hallways in it! 😉

    Seriously, though, it looks amazing. The lighting and shading are particularly impressive.

    Very nice. I love the angle and depth in this scene. It feels like we’ve hacked into a high-end security camera that we can use to help us control our Ace puppet. *evil grin >:)

    MC, If you’re going for a toon shaded look you should include interior lines as part of the texture map, or even as geometry, to avoid boiling around the creases

    Anyone scared that this game will turn out “too cartoon-y” has another thing coming. This radiates classic Space Quest. That clean corridor likely won’t stay clean for very long. 😉

    … needs more dead bodies.

    While it’s kind of cartoony, it still seems to have more a sense of 3D depth than what I’m used to seeing in a cartoon. I quite like it.

      …and atmospheric depth as well, due to the nice lighting. It actually feels kinda like a compromise between SQ5 and SQ6, at least in this screenshot – visually/artistically, that is.
